An aggregator is regulated and licensed by the Maryland Public Service Commission to represent multiple electric customers and aggregate their respective electric loads to maximize the group's purchasing power.

5. Are all broker/aggregators independent of energy suppliers?
No. The majority of licensed broker/aggregators are also energy suppliers.

6. What is the benefit of an independent broker/aggregator?
An independent broker/aggregator represents the electric customer(s) and is indifferent as to who the customer's energy supplier is.
